An example of watershed and Livestock interaction, in India©M. Rosales - FAOThe project is being implemented by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in collaboration with CALPI (Capitalization of Livestock Programs in India) initiative of SDC, The Government of India and several NGOs in water-scarce watersheds in semi-arid regions of India.

The project is conducting in-depth studies in 5 watersheds, with a minimum of 2-3 case studies in each watershed that explore, research and document livestock, environment and social interactions.
In addition to the in-depth study of these five watersheds, a complementary rapid assessment of a larger number of watersheds with an explicit focus on livestock is carried out.
